Creating a minimal, on-the-go diaper bag

Let’s be honest, when you become a mom, it’s so easy to feel like you need to carry everything with you. But the truth? You really don’t.

Over time, I’ve figured out exactly what I actually use when I’m out and about with my baby—and it all fits into one simple, on-the-go diaper bag that stays clipped to my pram.

No overpacking. No stress. Just the essentials.

My Go-To Minimal Diaper Bag Setup...

This bag lives on my pram, which means we are always ready to head out the door, and that is a lifesaver on busy days or when meltdowns occur.

I keep the contents super simple and only carry what I know I will need. The core changing items include,

• Three diapers, just enough for a few hours out

• Disposable changing mat, quick, clean, and easy for on-the-go changes

• Baby wipes, a must, for obvious reasons (although you could use cotton wool if you are not a wet-wipes fan)

• Antibacterial wipes, in case the public location needs a little extra 'care'

Additional “Just in Case” Essentials

Because babies are unpredictable I also have...

• A bib

• Two burp cloths, one never seems to be enough!

• Antibacterial hand gel, a non-negotiable when you’re out

• Breastfeeding cover, so I can feed comfortably, anywhere

And something for me because mums deserve a little something too...

• Lip gloss – quick, easy, and makes me feel put together

What I Don’t Keep in the Bag

Instead of stuffing everything into one big bag, I keep a few things already set up on the pram:

• One or two toys attached to keep baby entertained

• A binky (dummy) and case, clipped on (so it never hits the ground!)

• Two blankets stored underneath

And in the trunk (boot) of the car, I keep extras like:

• A pram rain cover

• Coffee cup holder (priorities!)

If you don't have a car these can go at the bottom of your pram (in the basket).

Simplifying my diaper bag has honestly made leaving the house so much easier.

• No more digging around.

• No more heavy bags.
